Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1 · Beijing arrival

Reach the hotel, settle in and keep sightseeing optional. The first active excursion follows a full night of rest.

Day 2 · Imperial Beijing

Use a confirmed palace visit as the anchor, followed by a shorter hutong walk. This is an orientation day rather than the first endurance test.

Day 3 · Great Wall walking

Choose a maintained section and a walking distance that suit the whole group. Agree the turnaround point before setting out and retain a shorter option for wind, heat or lower energy.

Day 4 · Transfer to Xi’an

Move by a suitable rail or air service after checking the current schedule. Keep the arrival evening near the hotel so the transfer does not become another hard day.

Day 5 · Archaeology and city life

Visit the Terracotta Warriors, then allow a seated break before an optional city walk. Cycling on the walls is an add-on only if access, weather and guest comfort fit.

Day 6 · Xi’an to Zhangjiajie

Choose the workable flight or rail connection for the travel date. Expect this to be a travel day and use the afternoon or evening for recovery, not a mountain commitment.

Day 7 · Wulingyuan scenery

Select a park route around the group’s stair and downhill comfort. Vehicle and lift options, entry arrangements and queues need checking for the chosen route; a shorter viewing day remains available.

Day 8 · A second mountain day

Choose another Wulingyuan route or a separately arranged Tianmen Mountain visit. Forecast, access and recovery from the previous day decide which option is sensible; these are alternatives, not a promise to do both.

Day 9 · Transfer to Guilin

Protect the intercity journey and hotel arrival. A relaxed local meal introduces the next region without adding a late landscape excursion.

Day 10 · Yangshuo at your pace

Choose a countryside walk, a short cycle route or a more sheltered local experience. Agree the terrain, equipment and guide arrangements first, then leave a rest interval after the main activity.

Day 11 · Guilin and onward to Shanghai

Keep any morning outing short enough to protect the onward flight or train. When the workable connection is early, use the morning for the transfer rather than forcing another sightseeing stop.

Day 12 · Shanghai recovery day

Finish with a waterfront walk, a neighbourhood meal and a museum if desired. This lower-impact day gives the trip a calm conclusion after the landscape chapters.

Day 13 · Departure

Use the actual outbound terminal and departure time to set the transfer. The itinerary ends in Shanghai unless the confirmed proposal specifies another gateway.

What we confirm before booking

This is a proposed route, not a fixed departure or a reservation. Hotel names, transport services, admission times, local guides and the inclusions belong in your dated proposal. Availability may require a changed transfer or a different sightseeing order. International flights and entry documents should be settled alongside the route, not assumed to be included.

How to choose the right pace

Thirteen days cover five bases and several travel days, so this is an active route even when walking is reduced. Tell us about mobility, downhill comfort and previous hiking experience. Mountain weather and trail access can require a shorter or indoor alternative; strenuous activity is never essential to complete the whole journey.
