The upper route reaches elevations where visitors may feel the altitude. Its colour and water levels vary with season and conditions, so promotional images should not be treated as a guarantee.
The most useful way to approach Huanglong Scenic Area is to connect the visible place with the wider geography and history of Jiuzhaigou. High-elevation travertine pools and mountain scenery requiring conservative pacing and a weather alternative.
