City & place hubs
This Sichuan index currently links to 2 destination guides: Chengdu and Jiuzhaigou. They introduce different travel settings, from urban food streets and panda visits around the provincial capital to mountain valleys, lakes and walking routes farther north. The cards are starting points for planning a region, rather than a claim to cover every town or protected area in Sichuan. Open the destination that matches your main interest, then use its individual attraction pages to compare access, effort and the time that belongs inside the visit.
For a first stay, allow roughly 2–3 days around Chengdu before deciding whether to add a separate mountain chapter. A city day works well with one scheduled panda visit and a shorter neighbourhood or teahouse stop; it becomes harder when distant excursions are treated as nearby additions. For a longer 5–7-day outline, compare the city base with a dedicated Jiuzhaigou stay and retain travel days between them. These are planning ranges, not a promise that a particular flight, road or park connection will run on your dates.
Choose the mountain portion by walking tolerance and season. A group that wants frequent seated breaks should prioritise permitted shuttle-supported viewpoints and a modest route, while keen walkers can leave more room for boardwalks and changing weather. Rain, snow, conservation work and highland conditions can alter what is accessible. Reserve the named park or activity when its current rules require it, check the actual entry session and leave the final return connection visible in the day plan. A museum closure day or a mountain transfer should never be hidden inside an apparently free afternoon.
Use Chengdu attractions for a closer comparison of pandas, temples and nearby excursions. The Jiuzhaigou attraction index helps separate the main valley visit from Huanglong and other regional outings. If the trip crosses beyond Sichuan, Southwest China provides the neighbouring destination framework. Start with one city or mountain base, check its practical pages, and add the second only when the travel schedule leaves enough time to enjoy it.
