Chengdu: Panda conservation with an early start
Be at Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding around 07:30 from March to October or 08:00 from November to February, keeping about 2–3 hours for the visit before the next travel leg.
Chengdu to Leshan
Start around 09:00 with the arranged pickup in Chengdu; travel by high-speed rail from Chengdu East to Leshan and allow about 45–60 minutes for station access before the train. Allow about 60 minutes on the train for the main leg, then check in at the Leshan stay before visiting the Leshan riverside promenade for up to 90 minutes. Leshan: A route timed around access and crowds
Aim to reach Leshan Giant Buddha scenic area by 09:00 and allow about three hours for the main stop. Drive from central Leshan in roughly 20–40 minutes. Reserve the scenic entry with the booking document: a foreign visitor’s passport or a mainland Chinese visitor’s ID card; boat access, if used, will be finalized before travel; use the China trip planning guide to check reservations.
Depart Leshan
Allow at least 60 minutes after hotel checkout for luggage and the private transfer toward Leshan Railway Station; pickup details will be set to match your departure. If the confirmed departure leaves a clear two-hour gap, take a short walk at the Leshan riverside promenade close to the overnight base.
